We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Paul F. Gibbs, who left this world on September 3, 2024. Paul was born on October 3, 1959, in Rome, New York to his loving parents I. Barry and Reda Gibbs and his brother Jeff Gibbs. He is survived by his three cherished children: Jillian Cosgrove (Joseph Cosgrove), Chelsea Gibbs (George O’Brien),and Hailee Gibbs. He also leaves behind three adored grandchildren; Sean, Jack and Amelia, as well as his former spouse Mary Ellen Gibbs with whom he shared a deep connection through their children.

Paul attended Rome Free Academy High School before furthering his education at SUNY Oswego & Albany, graduating in 1982. He had a successful career in Commercial Real Estate Development, where he was known for his professionalism and dedication.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed road cycling, boating, shell fishing, taking scenic drives, relaxing on the beach, and most of all, spending quality time with family. He loved to cook, especially on the grill! He truly cherished living on Cape Cod and felt blessed to be a longtime Sandwich resident.

Paul will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and gentle nature. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Paul passed away due to Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD), a rare disease he fought with bravery and dignity until the very end. Though he may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 6th at The Sagamore from 9-11am.
