Patrick Neal Drake Sr., 67, of Aztec, passed away at his home on Monday, Oct. 2. He was born on July 11, 1950 in Carlsbad, NM to Shirley "Bill" Drake and Kitty Jones, he was raised by Kitty and Jimmy Jones.Pat married Ejie on April 19, 1969 and they moved to Aztec in 1978, where they raised their family. When his children were young he took on the duty of being Coach Drake and participated in girly activities for Twila. He loved photography and art and loved that it was passed on to his children and grandchildren. Pat's greatest love was for his family and the outdoors; hunting, fishing, trapshooting, and of course, his cabin 'Agave Ridge'. He took great pride in his work with the oil and gas business and retired after 45 years, and pursued his dream of becoming a knife maker. He and Patrick, Jr., started the Agave Ridge Knife Works. Pat was and will always be our very beloved husband, dad, grampa, uncle, best friend and coach.Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Kitty and Jimmy Jones; Shirley "Bill" Drake; brothers, Mike Drake and Scott Jones; sisters, Ann Watts and Sherry Galloway; grandparents, Clarence and Freida Biggs.Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Ejie Drake; son, Patrick N. Drake Jr., (Connie); daughter, Twila Skidmore; grandchildren, Aaron, Dyllon, Logan, Kennedie, Christopher, Cameron and Connor; great grandchildren, Jace, Blake and Kameden.Service will be held for Pat at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington, with Pastor Rey Espana officiating. Honorary pallbearers, Roy Callison Sr., Bill Vickers, Stuart Buckingham, Buddy Galloway, Rony Simmons, Roy Callison Jr., Aaron Kreilick, Dyllon Drake, Logan Drake, Christopher Skidmore and Connor Skidmore.
