Dougherty, Patricia M. WILMINGTON, N.C. Patricia M. (Brady) Dougherty, 57, died peacefully at home on November 4, 2016, surrounded by family and dear friends. Tricia was born on March 8, 1959, in Albany, where she attended college and met the love of her life, David Dougherty, with whom she shared 34 wonderful years of marriage. They moved from New York in 2003, and truly enjoyed the time spent in North Carolina, weekends on Bald Head Island, and most especially, at Tricia's favorite place, the beach. Tricia and David greatly enjoyed traveling and spending time with their large family and many friends. Favorite places included hiking in the Rocky Mountains, snorkeling in Hawaii and many summers spent camping and boating on Lake George. She was a blessing to all who encountered her and encouraged everyone to be their best version of themselves, thriving in life and practicing gratitude. Tricia's spark will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, David Dougherty; her mother, Edith (Zappone) Brady; her brother, James Brady of Buffalo; her nieces, Colleen Brady; Heather (Ethan) and their children, Zachary and Abigail Nolan of Wilmington; and April (Walter) Tambasco and their son, Brady of Altamont; as well as countless cousins, relatives and friends. Visiting hours are Tuesday, November 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Andrew's Funeral Home located at 4108 S. College Road, in Wilmington. A funeral service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 9, at 9 a.m. at 6650 Carolina Beach Road.
