This obituary is administered by:
Weister, Patricia A.Patricia A. Weister, 82, Marshfield, passed away early morning on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit of Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and nephews will serve as pallbearers.Patricia was born on September 1, 1934 in Marshfield, the daughter of Art and Rose (Regele) Weister. She was a member of the first graduating class of Marshfield Columbus High School in 1952. After graduation, Pat attended St. Benedict's College in St. Joseph, Minnesota. She returned to Marshfield and began a 36 year, career in bookkeeping at Central State Bank (now BMO Harris Bank) of Marshfield. She had also been employed at Heinzen Printing and the Belvedere Supper Club. Pat was a lifetime member of St. John's Catholic Church where for many years she volunteered her time cleaning the church on Saturdays. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed spending time at the family cabin riding her three-wheeler and just taking in the beauty the northwoods has to offer. She loved planting her flowers and embroidery. Pat was able to travel the country and visited every state but four. Her true passion was animals. Other than the stray snake, she loved all of them equally. She never lived a day without a cat as she would take in the needy ones and give them a home of love. Pat's loving and caring nature shone brightly as she cared for her sick mother at a young age and then later on to her father at their home before their deaths. She played the role of grandmother and aunt to her six nephews whom she never forgot and then to their children. Pat was the greatest example of others before self. Pat is lovingly survived by one sister, Maxine (Sylvester) Steines of Tripoli and one brother, Harvey Weister of Marshfield. She is further survived by her 6 nephews and their families, Kevin (Rhonda) Steines and their children (Becky, Brad and Ryan), Eugene Steines (friend - Dawn) and his daughter, (Bobbi), Paul Steines and Cheryl and his children, (Emily and Alex), Dean (Ann) Steines and their children, (Aaron, Claire and Greta), Doug (Michele) Steines and their children, (Haley and Sabryn) and Shawn (Kris) Steines. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Art and Rose (Regele) Weister. The family wishes to thank the staff of DaVita Dialysis Center and the staff of Surgical ICU and Palliative Care team of Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital for their kind and loving care throughout her illness. Memorials in Pat's name may be given to Marshfield Zoological Society or the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
