Malmanger, Patricia A.Patricia A. Malmanger, age 70, a Manitowoc resident, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls. She was born on March 13, 1947 in Oconto Falls, daughter of the late William and Pearl Larsen. Patricia attended Oconto Falls Public Schools and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics Education from St. Olaf College in 1969. Pat met her future husband there during her Freshman year. On June 7, 1969 she married Byrl . Malmanger at Grace Lutheran Church, Oconto Falls. Shortly after their wedding, the couple moved to Manitowoc. Pat taught four years the Mishicot School District. In 1972, she joined Byrl in the Manitowoc Public School District where she taught for another 26 years. Pat retired from teaching in 1999. Pat and Byrl were members of First Lutheran Church where she played hand bells for over ten years and sang in the choir after retiring. In 2000, Pat and Byrl began playing duplicate Bridge and attained the distinction of becoming Bronze Life Masters in 2005 and 2007 respectively. They met many nice people at the Bridge games and tournaments they attended from Hawaii to Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2005 they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in the foothills of the Ozarks for the nicer winter weather and the five Bridge games a week they could play. Survivors include her two children: Ole Lars Malmanger (Jennifer Meyer), Manitowoc, and Greta (Dan) Scherbert, Milwaukee; six grandchildren: Sevron and Luke Malmanger, Florence, Edna ,Agnes and Hazel (arriving in January) Scherbert; a brother-in-law: Larry Ahrendt, Waukesha; a sister-in-law: Barbara Bielenberg, Sloan, IA; a brother-in-law: Mark (Barbara) Malmanger, Swanville, MN; two Godchildren, one niece, four nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Byrl in 2009; one sister: Kristin Ahrendt; a very special friend: Florence Johnston; and many wonderful aunts, uncles and friends. A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
