Ouida Agnes (Carlisle) WalkerBAIRD, TXOuida Agnes (Carlisle) Walker, 88, passed from this life to her heavenly home on August 27, 2017, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. She was born on November 9, 1928, to Joseph Love "Joe" and Cora Archer Carlisle in Cisco, Eastland County, TX. Ouida attended school in Cisco and O'Donnell, graduating from O'Donnell in 1946 and attending Cisco Jr. College and McMurry College, studying elementary education. While at McMurry, she was introduced to the best friend of her roommate's boyfriend, Weldon Mathew Walker. They were married on May 20, 1951, in Cisco, TX. Weldon passed away on February 20, 1990. They moved several times during their early marriage, following his road construction jobs, before settling in his hometown of Baird in 1958, where they made their forever home. She was a stay at home mom to their six kids. She was a devout Christian and lifelong Methodist, who was very active in her church, serving it in several different capacities. She was the last of the original "Kitchen Crew" for Kid's Club.She leaves a large family to miss her including her children: Ray Walker, Susan Walker, Sonia Walker, Joey Walker, Larron Walker, and Julie Walker (Dave Benton), all of Baird; her siblings: Robert Lee Carlisle of Uvalde, TX; Marvin Carlisle of Wills Point, TX, Margaret Waldrop of Bossier City, LA, Melvin Carlisle and wife Janet of Rio Rancho, NM, and Richard Carlisle of Arlington, TX; granddaughter: Sally Walker Ramirez and her children, Braeden Ramirez, Saegen Whitehead and Welden Whitehead; grandson: Mathew Walker and granddaughter: Becky Walker and her son, Tyler Walker, all of Baird; granddaughter: Kaitlyn Walker of Fort Worth, TX; step-grandson: Jimmy Wilkerson and wife Jennifer and their children, Piper and Brenden Wilkerson; step-granddaughter: Jana Wilkerson Anderson; honorary grandchildren: Eddie Neal and Kim Gunter; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her very special church family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years: Weldon Walker; parents: Joe and Cora Carlisle and one brother: Billy Joe Carlisle. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Baird First United Methodist Church with Kenneth Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Ross Cemetery Annex in Baird. Pallbearers will be granddaughter: Kaitlyn Walker; nephews: Kevin Waldrop and Clay Carlisle, Eddie Neal Gunter, Roger Corn, Larry King, Hector Aguirre and Josh Glossen.
