Oswald Kennerly Furtick, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the age 73 years. He was born on January 17, 1943 to Oswald and Marion Barrett Furtick in New York and grew up in Springfield, South Carolina. Ken was the husband of the late Mary Harvey Furtick for 46 years. Ken was the loving father of Melissa Furtick Killian (Eric) and Amy Furtick LeBlanc (Alec). Ken was the grandfather of Conner and Riley Killian, Hunter and Lane LeBlanc. He was the brother of Marion Oley (Frank), Joann Cousins (Paul), Edward (Kathy), Robert, Walter (Glenda), Barbara Strickland (Jetter). He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and his wife. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family, all of whom beloved very much. Ken is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two tours. Ken was retired from Bunge Corporation. He enjoyed spending time at his camp, the pond in Springfield with family, cooking and sharing his meals. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
