Opal Neeley1923 - 2016Opal J. Neeley, 93, of Springfield, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016. She was born on January 17, 1923 in Boles, Arkansas, one of ten children to Henry and Lou Della (Frost) Taylor. She graduated from Boles High School in 1940. On January 11, 1942, in Boles, Arkansas, she married Cleo G. Neeley. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2014. She worked for Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene as a cook for 40 years. Even in her retirement, she continued working part-time, in and on call basis. Opal was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved her work and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed doing crafts. Opal loved family get togethers and she was loved by everyone. Opal is survived by two daughters: Meade Winters (Chris) of Springfield, and Vicky Fox (Lyle) of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters, Emma Von Phillips of Springfield and Wanda Wilkinson of Roseburg, OR; a brother, Seth Taylor, of Mesquite, Texas; two grandsons: Todd (Denise) and Jeff Winters; one granddaughter, Tonya (Eric) Jastad; and two great-grandsons: Trevor Jastad and Jeffrey Ryan Winters. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Springfield Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
