Oliver was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William and Helen Lewis. Growing up, he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for helping others. After completing his education, Oliver embarked on a successful career as a dedicated businessman, always striving for excellence in his work and leaving a lasting impact on all he encountered.

However, his greatest joy came from his role as a family man. Oliver married the love of his life, Emily, in 1971, and their love endured through the years, raising two wonderful children together. He was a pillar of strength and support to his family, providing unwavering love, guidance, and wisdom. Oliver cherished family gatherings, where he lit up the room with his warm smile and genuine laughter.

Beyond his immediate family, Oliver was an active member of his community. He believed in giving back and was involved in various philanthropic endeavors. Oliver eagerly volunteered his time and resources to help those in need, forever leaving a positive impact on countless lives within the community.

His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held on October 9, 2023, at St. John's Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Oliver's favorite charity, the Indianapolis Community Foundation, which he dedicated countless hours to supporting.
