Olive Agnes Teuscher AllredDecember 26, 1915 - June 11, 2014Olive Agnes Teuscher Allred passed away June 11, 2014, at her home in Montpelier. She was born on December 26, 1915 in Geneva, Idaho to Frederick (Fritz) John Teuscher and Cora Elizabeth Cordon, the fourth of twelve children-seven sisters and four brothers. She was of Swiss-German and English descent. Olive was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on May 29, 1920 in Geneva. She was married to Therial Bates Allred on September 13, 1934 in Rigby, Idaho. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on May 15, 1982. She became the mother of three children: Dwinelle Eugene, Gloria Hortense, and Terry Byron.Olive had treasured memories of her childhood living on her father's ranch in Geneva herding sheep, weeding the garden, working in the fields, swimming in the creek, bonfires, and other activities with her brothers and sisters.After her marriage she accompanied her husband as he operated heavy equipment for contractors. They lived in many places: Afton, WY, Pocatello, ID, Rock Springs WY, Kemmerer WY, Ogden, UT,Hanford WA, Andersen Ranch Dam, ID, the Ririe Dam between Ririe and Palisades, Boise, Marsing, MCCall, Mountain Home, ID,Cokeville,WY, and Montpelier.Bates passed away on February 8, l983.Olive worked for many years as a waitress at the Burgoyne Café and the Vir-Day Café in Montpelier where she gained many friends. She was always a hard worker and in her later years walked for her health around town. She helped take care of her mother for about four years. After Terry lost his wife in an automobile accident, Olive went to live with him to help him take care of his three young children- Court, Mandee, and Tyson (deceased). She would take the children over to her mother's house where she and Ivy, a sister, loved to quilt, She loved to go to Senior Citizens and play bingo. She served as Relief Society secretary for many She also enjoyed cooking and canning fish and venison . A special interest of hers was hunting. She almost got her deer and when she was 86 she surprised everyone by shooting an elk.Olive also enjoyed traveling in her later years She accompanied Terry and his kids to Alaska on a camping trip. Dwinelle also took her to Yellowstone, Southern Utah, and the Black Hills in South Dakota, along with trips with her sisters to a sister, DeEsta in Ogden.She enjoyed many Teuscher Reunions at Bear Lake.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son (Dwinelle). one grandson (Tyson) one daughter-in-law (Darla).Brothers, (Johnny, Milton, Harding) and Sisters: Evelyn, Ivy, June, VeraShe is survived by a son Terry of Montpelier; a daughter ,Gloria (Glen) Miller of Idaho Falls; daughter-in-law, Charleen of Rupert; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great- grandchildren, and ten great;great-grandchildren. Also surviving brother and sisters: Maxine Michaelson of St. Charles ; Darlene Bee of Montpelier; DeEsta Poulsen of Ogden and Rex of Georgia.A special note of appreciation to Terry Allred who has taken care of her for many years. We will all miss her. Arrangements will be by Schwab-Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier.A viewing will be held at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary from 10:00 am to 10:45 am on Thursday, June 16, 2014. Graveside Services will follow at Montpelier Cemetery at 11:00 am.
