Ofelia Owens, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 31, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 80.

Ofelia was born on February 5, 1944, to John Richards and Olla Marie Owens in Shreveport, LA. She attended C.E Byrd High School and graduated in 1962. After high school, Ofelia proudly served in the Army.

Ofelia was a talented individual with a passion for cooking, sewing, knitting, and singing. She was known for her delicious meals, beautiful handmade quilts, and lovely singing voice.

Ofelia is survived by her four children, Dorrine, Trina, Lebra, and Angela, who will always cherish the memories they shared with their loving mother. She is survived by her siblings, Danny and Olivia. She also leaves behind eight adoring grandchildren- Connie, Duane, Jade, Summer, Kyla, James, Derrick and Eliza. Also, Ofelia was a great grandmother of 4- Lennox, Lyric, Onyx and Chosen.

Despite her battle with breast cancer, Ofelia remained strong and positive, always finding joy in the little things. She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering strength.

Ofelia's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
