We are gathered here today to celebrate the extraordinary life of Odell Edelen, who passed away on November 1, 2025. Born on March 7, 1933, to Otis Edelen and Loretta Edelen in Columbia, South Carolina, Odell was a loving husband to Theresa Edelen for 66 years.

Odell leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through his four children: John Edelen (spouse Janet Edelen), Carl Edelen, Carrol Edelen, and Jeffery Edelen. He was also a proud grandparent to five grandchildren including John Edelen Jr., Tiffany Edelen, Dominick Edelen (spouse Jennifer Hightower-Edelen), Antwon Newman (spouse Kristina Newman), and Jonathan Newman.

Throughout his life, Odell made a lasting impact on his community through his work at the Baltimore County Government, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2029. He also found joy in helping those in need through his work with the Humane Society organization.

Odell had a passion for cooking, swimming, and singing, and was known for his kind heart and infectious smile. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
