Norman Jewel Mellard Jr.Germantown, TNNorman Jewel Mellard, Jr., who is lovingly known to his grandkids as "Grumps", peacefully passed away on April 14, 2017. Norman was born on June 17, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Norman Jewel Mellard, Sr. and Lois Lorraine (Garrett) Mellard. Norman was a proud retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, avid golfer and woodworker, and traveled the world. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Bobbie Jo Mellard, son Brian Stephen Mellard (Laura), daughter Leslie Mellard Pineyro (Hector), five grandchildren, Reese, Dylan, Audrey, Gaston and Raquel, brothers Kirk Mellard (Becky), and Jimmy Mellard, Sr. (Gayle). Norman's smile, laughter and love of life will continue to be the light in the hearts of all his friends and family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a visitation before at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Alpha Omega Veterans Services - alphaomegaveterans.org
