Norma Knack83, Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on October 17, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George and Ethel (Dickson) Jannusch. On September 10, 1954, she married Rev. William E. Knack, and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1995.Norma graduated from McKinley High School in St. Louis. She was a devoted minister's wife, supporting his ministry. She was actively involved in the churches her husband pastored in Chicago, IL, Port Huron, MI, Louisville, KY, Hopkins, MN, and finally Indianapolis at St. John's United Church of Christ. She remained an active member of St. John's, where she worked as a teacher's assistant in the preschool, and was active in women's fellowship events and ladies' circles. She also worked as a tutor for Indianapolis Public Schools. She cherished family vacations and loved attending family events, especially the time spent fishing and making memories with her family at the lake cabin she and Bill owned in Wisconsin.Survivors include her daughter, Pamela R. (David) Nierman, Kokomo; grandson, Christopher D. Nierman; sister, Doris Schwartz, St. Louis; sister-in-law, Muriel Jannusch, St. Louis; nephew, Eric Schwartz, St. Louis; and niece, Phyllis (John) Reed, Blue Springs, Missouri.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Mark Knack; and two brothers, Donald E. Jannusch and Jesse J. Jannusch.The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 7031 S. East St., Indianapolis, with Pastor Ross Tyler and Rev. Don Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
