Nora GongAug. 31, 1934 - Sept. 04, 2017VisaliaNora Gong died on September 4, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. She was 83. She was born on August 31, 1934 in Armona, CA. In 1956, she married Harry Gong; together they had four daughters. Nora and Harry owned Gong's Market in Visalia for over 25 years. Nora will be remembered for her work ethic and compassion towards others. Nora befriended many people from church, her neighborhood, bowling league, and work. Her passion for travel took her to China, Italy, Spain, Australia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, and the Caribbean. Nora built a beautiful legacy for her children, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. Nora is survived by her sisters, Helen Mah; and Eva (and Al Green) Bien; and her daughters, Kim (and Dave) Jensen; Rhonda (and Mark) Crisp; Michelle (and Ron Ormonde) Gong; and Lisa (and John) Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; and her brother, Frank Wong. A celebration of her life will be held at Church of God (Seventh Day), Visalia on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at 3pm. Reception immediately following will be at Canton's Chinese Restaurant. Memorial donations may be made in Nora's name to ALSA.ORG
