This obituary is administered by:

Nila Dayle Hague Ware, age 90, died on June 5, 2014 in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was born on January 30, 1924 at her home, the Hague family farm near Conneautville, Pennsylvania. Nila was the daughter of Everson Hurlbert Hague and Emma Tyler Hague. She graduated from Conneautville High School in 1942. In 1944, she moved to Rocky River, Ohio to live with her older sister and brother-in-law, Inez and Harvey Urban. She was employed at National Carbon in the drafting department during WWII, working in what was a man's job. She attended Dyke Spencerian College in the evening. In 1947, Nila married Clyde Harry Ware at Rockport Methodist Church in Rocky River, Ohio. They raised a family of four children in Westlake, Ohio and later in Roanoke, Virginia. Mrs. Ware was a member of the Methodist church her entire life and dedicated herself to the mission of community outreach and service to others. She was devoted to her family, providing a supportive and nurturing upbringing for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nila's involvement in Girl Scouts, Little League Baseball, church and school activities exemplified her devotion to family and community. She was a warm, giving person, who was never judgmental. She practiced and instilled that ethic of openness and love to all who knew her. She lived by the code of "Count your blessings." Traveling was an important part of the family experience, which included vacations throughout the United States and Canada. After Mr. Ware's retirement from the Norfolk Southern Railway in 1981, they continued to travel throughout the world. Mrs. Ware is survived by her four children, Claudia Lee (Tom) of Jonesborough, TN; Donna Luckenbach (Al) of Annapolis, MD; Gail Ellis (Richard) of Ludlow, England; and Douglas Ware (Shelly) of Stavanger, Norway. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chris McCartt (Julie) of Kingsport, TN; Jenny Deranzio (Peter) of Chesterfield, VA; Tom Lee (Tamitha) of Johnson City, TN; Bryant Ware of Perth, Australia; Pierce Ware of Bozeman, MT; Shane Clarke of Kingwood, TX; and Chelsea Clarke of Richmond, VA; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and one grandson, Adam Mann.

A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke, VA on Friday, June 13 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at Windsor Hills United Methodist Church in Roanoke, VA at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Appalachian Service Project of Johnson City, TN and Meals on Wheels of Roanoke, VA.
