Niels P. Lyster85, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 15, 2017. He was born on July 11, 1931 in Nagasaki, Japan to Svend Erik and Louisa (Oliver) Lyster. Niels proudly received his Bachelor's degree from Antioch College, then his Master's degree from the University of Chicago. He retired in 1995 as a Vice President for Phosphate Chemical Export Association.Niels was a member of the English Speaking Union, Asian Art Society, Columbia Club, and Treasurer for the town of Spring Hill. He also served on the board for Cardinal Ritter High School, on the Antioch College Alumni Board and had been a trustee for Antioch College.He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; daughter, Colleen (Rick) Bender; 3 grandsons, Joshua (Andrea) Hughes, Christopher Hughes, and Jonathon (Kelsey) Hughes; and a great-granddaughter, Autumn Hughes.A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
