Nickie Ellen (Phillips) Hancock, 68, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at her home.She was born on April 15, 1949 in Hartford City, the daughter of Kenneth A. Phillips and Patricia Joan (Tucker) Phillips Houseman. Nickie married the love of her life Frank Hancock, Sr. on December 10, 1965. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Nickie will be remembered for her love of spending time with her family, and her love of planting flowers.Nickie is survived by her children, Laura Joan Atkinson (husband, David), Winchester, Frankie Ellen Brumfield (husband, Shelby), Liberty, MS, Frank Hancock, Jr. (wife, Ruth), Farmland, John Calvin Hancock, Liberty, MS, and Nickie Carol Hancock, Farmland; fourteen grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Connie S. Hill (fiancé, Kenny Coffman), Albany, Robyn A. Cunnington (husband, Robert), Parker City, and Teresa J. Capper (husband, Mike), Hartford City; two brothers, Kenny Phillips (wife, Diane), Hartford City and Mark B. Phillips, Hartford City; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hancock, Sr.; a daughter, Valarie Lynn Hancock; and a sister, Patricia Joan Phillips.The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Nickie on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her home in Farmland from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Family and friends welcome to attend.The Hancock family would also like to give special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice of Marion for the wonderful loving care she received.
