Nick CarterHartford, IowaNick Carter passed away on October 31, 2016, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born on February 14, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa.Nick retired from AIB College of Business. He enjoyed racing dogs, dancing, and watching NASCAR. Nick was also an avid Green Bay Packers & New York Yankees fan. He will be remembered as a loving and giving father, grandfather and friend; he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Nick is survived by his children, Nick Jr. (Pam) Carter, Eddie (Staci) Little, Ernie (Rose) Carter, and Missy (Dean) Swartslander; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Larry (Deanna) Robinson; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn S. Carter; brothers, Don Robinson and Con Robinson; and sisters, Ann Kimmel, Jackie Collins, Lucy Brody, Kay Robinson, and Marilyn Stone.Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2016 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, also at the funeral home followed by burial at Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, IowaMemorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Nick.
