Nellie A. Nava, 85, a resident of Deming, NM entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at her residence with her family by her bedside. Nellie was born on April 24, 1932 in Helena, Montana to Dolores Artiaga and Regina Ruiz. She is survived by her best friend, Arsenio Grageda of Deming, NM; five daughters, Margaret Martinez and her husband Joe of Tucson, AZ; Cecilia Sorbet of Tucson, AZ; Sally Escobar and her husband Miguel of Lewiston, Maine; Christine Gonzales of Deming, NM and Rosemary Gonzales of Deming, NM; one brother, Santiago Artiaga of Palomas, Mexico; two sisters, Jesse Harvey of Albuquerque, NM and Lupe Venegas and her husband Pancho of Las Cruces, NM; twenty two grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; two sons, Ray Gonzales, and Manny Nava; one brother, Benito Artiaga; three sisters, Stella Cuevas, Nena Gallegos, and Dolores Flores and one great grandchild, Damien Lopez. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 17th from 5-6pm with the holy Rosary beginning at 6pm with Susan Lundy officiating at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. Funeral mass will be on Thursday May 18th at 11am at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Cremation will then take place at Terrazas Crematory. Serving as pallbearers are Isaiah Montellano, Eric Gonzales, Javier Quintero, David Montano III, Arsenio Grageda and Gabriel Gonzales.
