She loved working in her flower beds, gardening, humming birds, her many animals, and canning. Nellie was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Vivian Carroll; husband, John Whiddon; sisters Leigh Carroll and Emily Carroll. Nellie is survived by her sons, Bradley Barefoot of Alabama, and Gray Barefoot of Knoxville, TN; brothers Mitchell Carroll of Knoxville, TN, and Charlie Carroll of Alabama; grandchildren, Christopher, Kendal, Leighanne, and Nicole; 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
