NATE LINDER, 69 FREEPORT - Nate Linder, 69 yrs. old, of Freeport passed away at his home on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013. John Nathan Linder was born on Dec. 17, 1944 in Cedarville the son of John J. and Norma J. (Lausch) Linder. Nate graduated in 1963 from Freeport High School. He married Dee Mergen in Freeport on Dec. 11, 1967. He was a retired employee of the local phone company. He received a heart transplant on Feb 3. 1999 at Rush-St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago. The family wishes to thank Dr. Heroux of Chicago, Dr. Workman, Dr. Khan and DaVita Dialysis. He enjoyed car shows, the Green Bay Packers, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Dee; his children, Nate (Becky) Linder of Indiana, Kimberley (Andrew) Keil of Iowa, and Heath (Jennifer) Linder of Freeport; his grandchildren, Joshua, Alexandria, Cassandra, Samuel, Lauren, and Hannah; his brothers and sisters, Judith (William) Mercier, Jayme (Debbie)Linder, Jonas (Norma) Linder, Jan Linder; his mother-in-Law, Phyllis McLain; aunts and uncles. Nate is preceded by his parents, Father-in-law and his brother-in-law. Services will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at the Schwarz Park Blvd., 608 S. Park Blvd. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel until the time of service. A memorial has been established in his memory.
