Nancy J. ShepherdPleasant HillNancy Shepherd, age 69, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 19, 2016, after a brave battle against pancreatic cancer.Nancy was born on April 25, 1947. She grew up on the east side of Des Moines and graduated from East High School in 1965. She married Jim Shepherd on August 19, 1967. Along with raising their two sons, she worked at Heritage Cable and then later at EMC insurance.She was a strong woman and is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her son Jeff (Tina) Shepherd and his daughter, Josi; her son Scott (Wendy) Shepherd and their daughters, Jessica and Katie; her brother, David (Sheryl) Bewyer; many nieces and nephews; and her wonderful, fun-loving friends.Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Bewyer; and her loving aunt, Thelma Boot.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
