Nancy C. RayNaples, FLNancy C. Ray, of Naples, FL, formerly of Columbus, OH, died on Monday, January 23, 2017. She was 85. She was born on July 24, 1931 in Oak Park, IL. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School (OH), and attended Denison University, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-two years Ben T. Ray, former president of Columbus & Southern Electric Co., and her parents, Richard N. and Jeanette M. Cole.She is survived by her children: Debra Ehrman, Cynthia Curtis, Emily Johnson, Richard Ehrman, Melissa Ehrman, and by her first husband, George Ehrman, with whom she shared a strong bond and friendship in later years. She was blessed with six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.Nancy was a supportive member of the Columbus Museum of Art, Franklin Park Conservatory, Grant Hospital Board, and Columbus Zoo. She had a kind word and a welcoming smile for all to whom she came in contact with. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.Nancy's ashes will be interred next to her mother at Union Cemetery, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ben T. & Nancy C. Ray Endowed Scholarship at Ohio Dominican University, 1216 Sunbury Rd., Columbus, OH 43219, where Mr. Ray was a former Board of Trustee member, and/or to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Ln., Naples, FL 34105.
