Murray Ross McIntosh, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of West Perth, ON, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, near Boyle, AB, at the age of 39 years old.Murray was tragically killed in a car collision on his way home from working north of Fort McMurray on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in dense fog when his work truck collided with a logging truck.Murray was born on April 2, 1977, in St Mary's, ON, and raised in the area of West Perth where his parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles operated several farms. He was a farm-boy through and through. He attended elementary and high school in Mitchell, ON. Upon graduation, Murray attended Fanshawe College in London, ON specializing in agriculture.Murray was known by all as a man with "larger than life" strength, vitality, humour, adventurous spirit, endless energy and wonderful open heart for his family and everyone he met. There was nothing Murray could not do, whether fixing equipment (of any type) to helping out a complete stranger with his numerous abilities. Murray demonstrated his love and huge caring heart through what he could do for others.Murray displayed his characteristics throughout his life through a variety of vocational roles in farming, farrier, real estate agent and broker and Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician. He was community focused and served as council member in West Perth. He also was active in humanitarian work in Mexico with his father in-law. He played in recreational hockey leagues and baseball throughout his life. Murray loved the outdoors and enjoyed many road trips, camping, fishing and canoeing (where he once accidentally dropped his wife into the Highwood River by over-turning the canoe) and playing with his children and nieces and nephew. He was a great husband, dad, son, son in-law, brother in-law, and uncle.Murray will be sadly missed by the "love of his life" his wife Rachel McIntosh (nee Southworth); his children: Austin, Morgan, Riley and Abigail; parents Ross and Lois McIntosh; and siblings: Allan (wife Heather), Julia (partner Lou), and Coralee (husband Jon); father and mother in-law, Pastor Paul and Janice Juss; sister in-law Deborah Smillie. His nieces: Ashley (Deborah's daughter), Tegan (Julia and Lou's daughter); and his nephew Charlie (Julia & Lou's son) will also miss their Uncle Murray. Murray's large extended family of Uncles, Aunts, and cousins will miss him too.Murray was predeceased by his Grandpa and Grandma McIntosh and Grandpa and Grandma Martin, and his Uncle Glen and Aunt Ann McIntosh in Ontario.A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00am at the Victory Church in Grande Prairie (7702 100 St.).At Murray's request, he will be cremated and therefore, no viewing service will be held.
