Monte F. PoormanJune 28, 1954 - Oct. 31, 2016BUCHANAN - Monte F. Poorman, 62, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Lakeland Community Hospital Niles. Monte was born on June 28, 1954, to the late William and Marian Poorman in Niles, MI. He graduated from Buchanan High School, class of 1973, where he was a state runner-up in wrestling. Monte then went to Ferris State University where he continued wrestling and earned two Bachelor degrees. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion at Buchanan American Legion. Monte enjoyed motorcycle riding, cars, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Monte was one of a kind, never met a stranger & made anyone smile or laugh upon his visit. Monte is survived by his spouse, Cindy Payne; children, Marcella (Richard) Myers, Michael Poorman, Dawn Poorman, Joseph Poorman, Christine Thomas; their mother, Joanne Hayes; and Dawn (Butch) Baker; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and sister, Karan Kotz.
