Mildred Lavonia Willis was born on July 27, 1925 to Alonzo Jesse Day and Alice Virginia Day in Frederick, Va.

Millie as she was called grew up in Los Angeles with her parents, her three brothers and three sisters; Leola, Alonzo, Edward, Patricia, Alice and Arthur.

Millie attended David Starr Jordan High School where she was a member of the Glee Club and played on the softball team. After graduation she continued her education by getting a degree in nursing at Compton Community College. She then went on to become an employee for Los Angeles County working at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. Millie truly cherished working at Rancho, especially in pediatrics.

Millie married Clarence Willis May 9, 1961. Even though they never had children she considered her niece s and nephews her babie. Her husband passed away before her in 1988. Tge last years of Millie's life she resided at Gardena Retirement Center. She gained new friends and a new family. Millie was loved and cared for by amazing people. This became her home and this is also where God called her unto Him. Her parents Alonzo and Alice, siblings Alonzo, Alice, Edward, Leola and Arthur all preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her sister, Patricia Owens, nieces and nephews, a host of friends and her Gardena Retirement Community. We will always remember and love her.
