ROTT, Mildred Fay McCollom,102, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Christian Care Health Center.Mildred was born on January 3, 1914 in Dorchester, TX to Clarence DeWitt McCollom and Florence Trout Arrington. She was raised in the Fort Worth area where she became a showgirl with Billy Rose at the age of 22. He developed the show, Casa Manna in celebration of the centennial of Texas statehood. Millie toured with the group to New York where she resided for many years. There she met Tyler Rott and they married in Becket, MA on August 29, 1954. They lived in Flushing, NY and later moved to South Carolina where he died on January 23, 1993. Mildred is survived by her cousins.Mildred was a member of Douglass Boulevard Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship.A service of celebration of the life of Mildred will be held at the Christian Healthcare Chapel on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.Highlands Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
