A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Michael (Mike) John Nelson announces his passing after a brief illness, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the age of 70 years.

After growing up in Griffith, Indiana, Mike lived in Northwest Indiana before moving to Illinois in the early 80's. He and his family had most recently been living in Bolingbrook, Illinois prior to his retirement, when they moved to El Mirage, Arizona.

Mike's interests included golfing, bowling and enjoying classic television westerns. He was known for being a hard worker and was dedicated to both his immediate and extended family.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Bluenettia (Blue) and his children, Josh (Amy) Nelson, Paul (Heather) Nelson, Michael Nelson, and Sheree Glasper. Mike will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Carissa, Oran, Jared, DiAndre, Elijah, Emma, Lucy, Max and Imani, three great-grandchildren, by his sister, Sandra Kevilus, and his brothers Troy and Steve Nelson.
