Michael “Mike” MasonMay 23, 1949 - Oct. 29, 2016MISHAWAKA - Michael “Mike” Mason, 67, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Mishawaka after an illness.Michael was born on May 23, 1949 in South Bend as the son of Richard Sr. and Gertrude (Nejman) Mason, who preceded him in death along with a son, Michael Mason Jr.Michael is survived by his siblings: one sister, Deborah “Debbie” (Nick) Galvas, and seven brothers, Richard Jr. (Margo) Mason, Donald (Sue) Mason, Robert “Bob” (Dixie) Mason, Terrance (Karen) Mason, William Sr. (Sue) Mason, Gary (Sue) Mason and David (Christina) Mason, along with his special friends, Laura (Fennell) Wilks and Jimmy Boyd, and many nieces and nephews whom he thought of as his children.Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was employed by Monaco Coach Company in Elkhart as a welder for many years. Family and friends will gather to share memories and laughs on Tuesday, November 1st from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Paul Anderson officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
