GRIFTON - Michael David Jackson, 44, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. He was born on December 26, 1968, to David and Pam Jackson. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Mike is survived by his wife Kim, of the home; two sons, Garrett Jackson of the home and Blake Benson of Kinston; three step-daughters, Kayla, Jada and Alicia, all of Kinston; his parents, David and Pam Jackson; one sister, Rita Benson and husband Dwight, of Grifton; one nephew, Travis Benson and very special friends, the Michael Tyson family. Mike was employed with NCSU-Research Station for over 20 years. He enjoyed the outdoors; was an avid hunter, fisherman and cherished the time he spent with his son. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Farmer Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the Grifton Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
