Peterson, Michael D.Michael Dominic Peterson, age 55, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton with his family at his side.Mike was born on December 2, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma son of James and Kathryn "Suzanne" (Doudna) Peterson. He was a graduate of Appleton West High School. Following his education Mike enlisted in the Navy. He served his country from July of 1980 until October of 1984. After completing his duty with the Navy, Michael assisted his father at the family Perkins Restaurant in Stevens Point for several years. He later was employed with Kimberly-Clark and then with UW Printing as a printer until he retired due to ill health. Mike was united in marriage on June 20, 1981 to Kim Koehnke. What Michael loved doing most was spending time with his family especially, his granddaughter Evelyn. He enjoyed music and cruising in his favorite car the 350Z. Michael is lovingly survived by his wife, Kim of 35 years; a daughter, Jenny (Gary) Hill, Neenah; a son, Andrew Peterson, Appleton; his granddaughter, Evelyn and a second grandchild due in August; his mother, Kathryn "Suzanne" (Vernon) Last, New Holstein; and a brother, Daryl (Debbie) Peterson, Reedsville; he is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father, in April of 1995.The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Valley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Kelly officiating. Michael's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military Honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
