Groene, Michael A.Michael A. Groene, age 59, of Onalaska, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017. He was born on August 17th, 1958 in Plymouth, WI, the son of Ralph and Carol (Miller) Groene. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School and Southwest Technical College. On October 23rd, 1982, he married Mary Lueck at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth; they were happily married for 35 years. Michael held many roles during his 35 loyal years at Goodyear Tire Company including his final as an account executive. Following his career at Goodyear, he worked part-time as a sales consultant for Pomps Tire, Green Bay, WI. Michael was extremely proud of his three daughters and all of their accomplishments. He was an avid golfer, bowler, boater, and jokester. Michael was a proud Packer, Badger, and Brewers fan and enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. He lived his life as a role model of hard work and determination while also displaying the importance of fun and humor. Michael made friends everywhere he went and had the warmth and generosity to make everyone feel at home. He loved spending time with his family and friends and his new role as a grandpa to Lucas Kopischke. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of Onalaska; three daughters Erin (David) Kopischke of Minneapolis, Emily Groene of St. Paul, and Lauren Groene (fiancé Daniel Mandujano) of La Crosse. He is also survived by his parents Ralph and Carol of Plymouth, WI, and his brothers Steve (Jean) Groene of Sheboygan, WI, Dennis (Sheryl) Groene of East Peoria, IL, Jeff (Theresa) Groene of St. Louis, MO, sister-in-law Clare (Lloyd) Erbe of Plymouth, WI. Michael is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends. He was proceeded in death by his father- and mother-in-law Louis and Mary Lueck of Plymouth, WI.A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 21st, 2017, at North Presbyterian Church, 1327 N Salem Rd, La Crosse, with visitation from 10 a.m. to the time of service.
