It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Merton Johnson, who tragically lost his life in a fire on July 8, 2024. Merton was born on July 3, 1979 in Candlelight, Saint Andrew Parish, Jamaica to his parents Kabeeb and Merton May Johnson.

Merton was a loving husband to his wife, Debbie Johnson, whom he married in year 1. Together they raised three wonderful children: Remi, Brad, and Arlene Johnson. Merton was a dedicated father who always put his family first.

Merton attended Senior Annes Education High School and graduated in 1996. He went on to work at the farm, where he could often be found tending to the crops and animals. Merton had a passion for gambling and would often spend his free time playing cards with friends.

Merton will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his family, and his unwavering spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
