Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Merrill's family asks that you bring a favorite story to the memorial service to share. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the High Point Cemetery at High Point, IA at a later date. Memorials will be given to Courtyard Estates at Cedar Pointe, 6132 NE 12th Ave, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327 and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home. He attended school at Garden Grove High School, Garden Grove, IA and attended Central College at Pella, IA. He worked at Firestone, Pioneer, was a farmer and did custom bailing.He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed horses and driving through the countryside. In death he rejoins his parents, Wilbur and Thelma Williams, his long-term companion, Ylene Longwell, brother, Gary Richard Williams and a granddaughter, Ellen Krista Carpenter.Left to cherish Merrill's memory are his, children, Wendy (Coni) Williams, Houston, TX, Lori (Allen) Meyer, Johnston, IA, Stephen Williams, Winterset, IA and Andrea (Daniel) Carpenter, Westerville, OH, grandchildren, Aaron (Diana) Kintz, John (Tanya) McGoey, Crystal (Mike) Arkovich, Chris (Nikki) Jespersen, Sadie Williams, Jace Steenhoek-Williams, Jhett Williams, Stella Carpenter and great grandchildren, Emily Kintz, Bryan, Paddy and Owen McGoey, Cooper and Austin Arkovich and Tate and Henry Jespersen.
