It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melynda Cates, who departed this world on July 21, 2024, in New Iberia, Louisiana. Born on June 15, 1979, Melynda brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.

She was the beloved daughter of Carleton Cates and Billie Page. Melynda was a devoted mother to her daughter Kalista Cates, who she shared with her spouse DorSavion Williams. She was also a loving grandmother to her precious grandchild.

Melynda will be remembered for her infectious smile, her kind heart, and her undeniable sense of humor. She had a knack for making everyone around her feel loved and cherished.

Although she may no longer be with us in body, Melynda's spirit will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Melynda.
