Melvina Z. GreenCANTON – Melvina Z. Green, 78, of Canton passed away at 11:53 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, at her residence.She was born on September 28, 1938, in Princeton, IL, to Raymond and Olive (Edie) Burcky. Melvina married Kenneth D. Green on June 5, 1958, in Vermont, IL. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2015.Also preceding her death were her parents and one brother.Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn (John) Gumpper of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Barton, Ryan (Jennie) Barton, Kathryn (Kyle) McLellan and Christopher Gumpper; five great-grandchildren, Chaska Barton, Micah Barton, Kaleb Barton, Marley Barton and Cadence Barton; and foster daughter, Monica (Michelle) Kline.Melvina was a school teacher and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Canton.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Canton with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Tim Bauler will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.Burial of the ashes will be in Vermont Cemetery in Vermont, IL, at 2 p.m.Memorials can be made to either Fulton County Humane Society or Graham Hospice.Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
