Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Sycamore Hill Free Will Holiness Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Melree was a daughter of the late George Washington Tyler and Lucy Jane Jacobs Tyler born on Oct. 17, 1932. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after many years of service. She was a faithful longtime member of Sycamore Hill Free Will Holiness Church where she served as the church secretary and treasurer and was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also involved with Cherokee Chapel United Methodist Church Heritage Group. Mrs. Dial loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting, singing and working with her flowers.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years Peter Dial of their home, four sons: Donald Ray Dial and wife Pearline of Laurinburg, Carl T. Dial and wife Dagmar, Peter "Clayton" Dial and wife Judy, and Oral L. Dial and wife Herlane all of Maxton, her daughters Carol D. Hunt and husband James of Laurinburg and Sharon D. Bullard and husband Leonard of Pembroke, her sister Aree Bryant of Maxton, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
The family request that memorial gifts be made in the memory of Mrs. Dial to Cherokee Chapel United Methodist Church Heritage Group, 5590 Oxendine School Road, Maxton, NC 28364.
