Maxine L. Bruenning 1924 - 2016 Maxine L. (Kanter) Bruenning, 91, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2016, at Gerstenberg Hospice Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. Maxine was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Chappell, Neb. Daughter of Edward and Clara (Anderberg) Kanter. Maxine worked for 17 years as a lunch time supervisor for Tremper High School, and as a homemaker. She volunteered in the library at Curtis Strange Elementary school for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kenosha. On Feb. 18, 1944, she married Louis W. Bruenning. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis W. Bruenning; parents, Edward and Clara (Anderberg) Kanter; her brothers, Clifford Kanter, Dwain and Delia (Johnson) Kanter, her sisters Glenis and Carl Carlson, Ardyce and Bill Christianson Survivors include her children: Louis E. and Kathy (Jividen) Bruenning of Argonne, Wis., Marsha L. and Bill Benkstein of The Villages, Fla., Debra S. Gonzalez, West Palm Beach, Fla., LuAnn B. and Torben Jacobsen, of Neillsville, Wis., she was further survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A celebration of Life will be at a later date. As we say good bye to a wonderful mother, grandmother,great-grandmother, and dear friend. Maxine was an all around classy lady who always looked her best no matter how she felt; who worked very hard to raise a beautiful loving family and who to this day all care and respect eachother. A lady who taught by example and enjoyed every day to the fullest, and always gave much more than she recieved. We will always love, honor, and treasure having known her and be grateful for her kindness and laughter. Your loving family.
