Maureen Gallagher (née Lauer), age 73, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Born on June 21, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Maureen was the daughter of Kathleen (née Sullivan) and George Lauer. She grew up surrounded by family and carried that sense of care throughout her life.

Maureen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Gallagher; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Lauer. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Ryan Gallagher (Danielle Fox) and Colleen Walker (Travis); her cherished grandchildren, Aiden and Nora Walker; and her sisters Kathy, Maryann, Julie, and Corrinne.

Family was at the heart of Maureen’s world. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and sharing special moments with them. Her loyal dog Ginger was a constant companion who brought comfort and companionship through the years.

Maureen treasured travel and tradition. She especially looked forward to her annual vacations to Door County, Wisconsin—a place filled with memories and peaceful retreats. She also delighted in several trips to Disney World, where she embraced the magic and wonder of those joyful getaways.
