Mattie Carter of Mobile, Alabama passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born on December 20, 1931, to Willie and Ethel Carter, Mattie brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving partner, John Aaron Carter, their son Ralph Charles Carmichael and daughter-in-law Bishop Angelitta Carmichael.

Mattie was a proud graduate of the Public schools of Washington County high school, where she made lifelong friends and cherished memories.

She leaves behind four adoring grandchildren, (eldest ) Shiquitha Boykin, Erin Rembert, Courtney Carmichael, and Ralph Charles Carmichael Jr., and a host of great grand-children, and one special great great grandchild, Indyia Monae Peters.,who brought endless happiness into her life.

Mattie, at the blessed age of 88, went home to be with the Lord on a Friday evening, while residing with eldest granddaughter Shiquitha Boykin and Jasmine in care of her.

Mattie will be remembered for her infectious smile, her love of sewing, cooking, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
