We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mattie Gilbert on November 27, 2025 in Camilla, Georgia, United States. Mattie was born on December 4, 1922 to Fred and Charlie Mae Walker.

She is survived by her loving spouse, Sammie Gilbert whom she married in the year 1950. Together, they raised three children: Rosa, James, and Susie.

Mattie was a devout member of her church and found great joy in her faith. She dedicated much of her time to serving her community and supporting those in need.

She also leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter for her host of grand and great grandchildren and a special granddaughter Tamika Sweet.

Mattie will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
