Mattie Winters, born on April 20, 1959 in Jackson, Mississippi, United States, passed away on May 8, 2023 in Grand Prairie, Texas, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and remembered forever.

Mattie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She lived a remarkable life that was filled with kindness, compassion, and generosity. She had an infectious smile and a heart of gold that touched the lives of everyone she met.

Her love for her family was unwavering and she always put them first. She was mother to two children, Tenika and Larry (Ashley). She was absolutely devoted to her grandchildren, JaShunna, Amarius, Anthony, and Akeira, 1 great-grand Jaylen. Mattie loved spending her free time with them, eating meals, telling stories, and playing games.

Mattie had an extensive career in the healthcare industry. She worked in home health and nursing homes for over 30 years. She was known for her incredible bedside manner and her ability to make her patients feel comfortable and cared for. Many of her patients and colleagues have said that she had a gift for healing both the body and the soul.

Mattie was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mattie was passionate about giving back and going to church.

Mattie will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and her contagious spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who have passed before her.

A celebration of Mattie's life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Wilson Grove MB Church in Flora, Ms In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers and donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mattie Winters.
