Mathew Johnson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024, in Manassas City, Virginia. He was born on May 4, 1935, to Martin and Tartarina Johnson.

Mathew was married to his loving wife, Julie Wells, in 1947. Together they raised three children, Anne Elizabeth, Andrew, and Margaret Susan. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, always putting his family first.

Mathew had a successful career as an engineer, retiring in 2002. He also proudly served in the Coast Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community.

Outside of work, Mathew was a talented artist. He enjoyed painting and drawing in his spare time, creating beautiful works of art that will be cherished by his family for years to come.

Mathew is survived by his wife, children, and eight grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
