Maryam Poole, a beloved member of the community in Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 62. She lived a life full of grace, kindness, and compassion for others. Maryam was known for her unwavering generosity and her joyful spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. May her memory be a blessing to all who were touched by her warmth and light. Maryam's legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished.

Maryam had an extraordinary ability to connect with children, fostering a love for learning that shaped the lives of thousands of students. Her classroom was a place of creativity, laughter, and encouragement, and her impact was felt long after her students moved on. She received numerous awards throughout her career, including Teacher of the Year in 1995, a testament to her commitment to education.

Outside the classroom, Maryam was known for her love of gardening and her beautiful flower beds, which brought joy to all who passed by her home. She was also an active member of the TMOA community, where she volunteered her time with the outreach program, helping those in need. Her unwavering faith and dedication to service were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Maryam is survived by her 3 children, Khai Al-batin, Khidhar Al-Batin, and Intisar Al-Batin; her six grandchildren, Olivia, Shazaad, Ethan, Laynah, Ella, and Hannah; and her sister, Patricia Poole. She was preceded in death by her parents.
