CRISFIELD - Mary V. Thomas Landon died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home. Mary was born on Oct. 15, 1928 in Onancock, Va., to the late Susie Williams Thomas and Travis Thomas, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Charles Landon. A 1946 graduate of Atlantic High School, she worked as a private sitter for many years. She enjoyed traveling; she could be ready in a matter of minutes for a road trip. Family; she was always there whether it was for a celebration or devastation, you could count her in. Mary was an avid grower of house plants. She had a green thumb and could turn a weed into a thriving green plant. She is survived by six children, Edwin Thomas Landon and wife, Judy, Diane Hill and husband, John, Virginia Perez and husband, John, all of Crisfield, Thomas Lee Landon, of Harleysville, Pa., Cindy Cooper, of Seaford, Del., and James Lee Landon and wife, Pat, of Pocomoke; four siblings, Janice Rogers, of Fredericksburg, Va., Margie Crockett, of Crisfield, Larry Thomas, of Bloxom, Va., and Travis Thomas, Jr., of Salisbury. She had 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dwight Lee Landon; her brother, Orville Thomas; and her sister, Charlotte Matthews. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Stephen S. Willing were held Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing was one hour prior.
