Mary Rae SavageOf Des Moines, IowaMary Savage, age 73, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines. She was born on February 8, 1944 in Marshalltown, IowaMary enjoyed going to Clear Lake and staying at her husband's family's cabin with their family and friends. She loved grilled cheese sandwiches with horseradish, maple candy, and banana bread. In her free time, she enjoyed driving her Bronco, watching television and collecting knickknacks. She especially looked forward to receiving her goodie boxes from her sister, LaDonna! Above all, she cherished time spent with her sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy, Lori, and Diane; and her sisters, LaDonna and Sharon. Mary will be greatly missed by her friends at the nursing home, the nursing staff, and her guardian, Heidi Peterson.Mary was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dorothy Quirk; beloved husband, Leslie Savage; and her brothers, Jim and Donald Quirk.Celebration of Life will be held at a later date followed by inurnment at Berwick Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to either or the Wounded Warrior Project in loving memory of Mary.
