Mary L. Williams 1935 - 2016FRANKFORT - Mary L. Williams, 81, passed away on November 5, 2016, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family at her side.She was born on April 19, 1935, in West Winfield, N.Y., to the late Milton and Ruth Blackstone Miller, and received her education in Sauquoit schools.On July 17, 1954, Mary and Martin Williams were united in marriage in the Norwich Corners Presbyterian Church.Mary had a varied working career, having been employed for Mohawk Trails as a bus driver, worked at J.C. Penny and most recently at the Utica Rescue Mission.Her most treasured vocation, though, was that of loving wife and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She was a faithful parishioner of the Norwich Corners Presbyterian and Living Faith Bible Church. She loved the Lord and was the women's Bible study leader, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.Her memberships included the Utica Rescue Mission Auxiliary and Christian Women's Aglow.Many memories were made and shared over the years at their camp on Pine Lake.Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Martin; her daughter, Shelly and George Perry, of Mohawk; her three sons, David and Nancy Williams, of Sauquoit, Mark and Vicki Williams, of Frankfort, and Dan and Marlis Williams, of Cincinnati, OH; her 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her son, Martin Williams, Jr., on April 28, 2016, and her sister, Beverly Yourno, on November 12, 2010.Mary's celebration of life will be Wednesday, November 9, at 10:00 at the Living Faith Bible Church, 2922 Oneida St., Sauquoit. Interment will be in Norwich Corners Cemetery.Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 8, from 4-7 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit.Please consider donations in Mary's name to either Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 ( www.hospicecareinc.org) or Living Faith Bible Church.
