Mary Holmes, born on March 12, 1927, peacefully passed away on September 10, 2024, in Decatur, Georgia, United States. She is survived by her loving partner Eugene Holmes, with whom she shared a beautiful life together. Mary and Eugene were blessed with three children: Leroy Holmes and his spouse Patsy Slater Holmes, Fitzroy Holmes and his spouse Shalinda Holmes, and Patricia Slater and her spouse Larry Slater. They were also blessed with several grandchildren: Dashawn Smalls, Janine Slater, Nadia Holmes, Ndira Holmes, Corey Hardy, Shirelle Holmes and Yolanda Williams.

Mary studied at Bishop Anstey High School and graduated in 1943. She went on to have a successful career at Golden Glide Skating Rink, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 2010.

Throughout her life, Mary was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She adored her eight grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow and thrive.

Mary Holmes will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
