Mary Louise Dominguez KoehnDecember 11, 1929 - September 8, 2014Mary Louise Dominguez Koehn (Marilu or LuLu), age 84 of Nampa, ID passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, September 8, 2014.Marilu was born on December 11, 1929 near Smith's Ferry, ID in a logging camp in the Idaho Mountains. She was the second daughter of John and Muriel (MeMe) Pigg.Marilu spent her childhood swimming in streams and hunting for arrowheads around Smith's Ferry with her older sister Bonnie Jean.Upon graduating from Boise High School Marilu married Wilford Miller. They had four children together, Will, Jeff, Tamara (Tammy), and Clara Lynnea (Lynn). She later married Ferd Dominguez in San Jose, CA. and they had two children, Kyle and Steve. Marilu then married Cam Koehn and helped him raise his four children.Marilu found lasting love late in life with Gary DeMott, her best friend and companion for 26 ½ years. Marilu, or LuLu as her grandchildren lovingly called her was always very politically active and involved in numerous charitable and non profit organizations.Marilu was responsible for starting the annual Hometown Dealership's community benefit in Weiser, ID 25 years ago with her son Steve Dominguez. The first event raised monies for the Weiser Hospital Birthing unit. The fund raiser is now in its 25th year.Because of her vision the event has helped thousands of families during the holiday season. The event started as a one day benefit and has grown into one of the largest in the Treasure Valley. Marilu always created beautiful wreaths for the auction. She had just finished six amazing wreaths for this years event just hours before her passing.Marilu loved beautiful things and took great pleasure in creating beautiful floral arrangements and wreaths as gifts for her family, friends and charities. Until the time of her death Marilu volunteered her time and artistic talent to the Women's Crisis Center in Nampa, ID. Marilu's greatest pride and joy was her 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandkids. She was always concerned about the future for her many grandchildren and continued to work hard to make the world a better place for them all the way up to her passing.Marilu was preceded in death by her parents John and Muriel Pigg, her older siblings John and Bonnie Jean, her sons Jeff Miller and Wilfred Miller and her grandsons, James and Dillon Miller. She is survived by her best friend and life partner Gary DeMott, her children Tammy and Jerry Ward, Lynn Miller Perkins, Kyle Dominguez, and Steve and Marisa Dominguez. Also her grandchildren, Katrina, York, Heather, Clint, Sarah Dawn, Kyle, Shane, Jeff, Lindsay, Dustin, Haley, Nick, Sarah Lynn, Jesse, Zach, Joey, Tayler, Molly, Katherine, Isabelle and Christian, as well as 27 great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday September 18, 2014 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, ID 624 Cleveland Blvd. Caldwell, ID 208-459-0833Shane Perkins will be officiating. There will be a reception following the service at the Glen Briar Estates clubhouse in Boise, ID. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Help Them To Hope P.O. box 55 Ontario, OR 97914.
